Transparencies
PPG designs and manufactures aircraft windshields and windows for commercial, regional, military, and general aviation customers. Our capabilities include glass, acrylic, and polycarbonate substrates; advanced coatings and liners engineered for specific performance requirements; heating systems that meet flight specifications; edge attachments for load-carrying applications; and interlayers that bond structural plies. PPG has pioneered technologies that have transformed windshield weight and service life.
Transparent Armor & Specialty Products
Securitect® and OmniArmor® Transparent Armor are engineered and rigorously tested to provide enhanced protection against some of the most severe ballistic and blast threats.
Coatings, Paint Removers & Cleaners
PPG offers a complete line of aircraft coatings, from primers compatible with a wide range of airframe substrates to topcoats available in standard, metallic, and special-effect mica colors. Our coatings deliver superior application characteristics, UV resistance, and long-term color stability. The innovative Selectively Strippable System combines lasting performance with efficient topcoat removal for simplified repainting.
Eldorado maintenance products include chromate-free paint and coating removers, military-approved formulations, and interior and exterior cleaners.
Sealants
PRC® and Pro-Seal™ sealants are trusted to seal the structures of many of the world's aircraft. Our comprehensive range includes products for fuel tanks, protection of aircraft mating surfaces, and sealing of aircraft windshields. Local Application Support Centers provide Semkit® packages, premixed and frozen sealants, and innovative custom solutions, such as PRC® seal caps and PRC® FIP Strip sealant, which deliver time and labor savings with quality advantages.
Chemical Management
PPG Aerospace offers a turnkey outsourcing program for chemical and fluid management, process management, and logistics. Each program is custom designed to include sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management.
Packaging
Semco® Packaging & Application Systems provides creative solutions for packaging and dispensing single- and multi-component adhesives, sealants, and coatings. These customized systems offer convenient storage, accurate mixing, ease of application, reduced waste, and simple cleanup. A wide range of dispensing guns, mixers, cartridges, nozzles, and syringes enables precise application of even the smallest amounts of material.
